Kelly graduated from Indiana University with a BA in Communication Studies. Her background, prior to pursuing her body arts career, includes working for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Indiana as their Community Relations Director, Advertising and Promotions at a video distribution company, creating and managing an inner-city elementary literacy and social competency program, and helping her husband, John, build his software company.
Kelly's interest in the body arts began in her late 20's when she developed a chronic hip and back issue while training for endurance runs both on her own and through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. The Pilates Method enabled her to correct muscle imbalances, gain flexibility and build her core muscles in order to keep her in running form. Also during her late 20's, Kelly began to develop wide spread chronic pain throughout her body that was accompanied by deep fatigue. Yoga asana and meditation practice became a way she could manage her pain both physically and mentally. Both practices have enriched her life not just physically; they have also provided a framework in which she views the world and the role she can play within it.
Kelly and her husband, John White, are recent empty-nesters after raising their two children, Pavin and Creean. They moved from Indiana to Colorado to experience the great outdoors! Kelly enjoys yoga, meditation, Qigong, reading, crocheting, stand up paddle boarding, skiing, and camping. She continues to explore new ways in which she can improve her health and the health of others.
